Kathy Fisher:

With a background in Occupational Therapy, Kathy has worked as an Assistive Technology Provider and Clinical Educator over the past 33 years.

Kathy has been involved in the provision of high technology rehabilitation equipment with clients in a variety of diagnostic categories including pediatrics and bariatrics. Kathy has worked as a clinical educator and product specialist for both the manufacturer and provider sectors of the industry.  Kathy provides clinical education and product consultation across Canada in all equipment categories including safe patient handling, bathroom safety, pressure management, seating and mobility. Her main area of interest and expertise is focused on complex rehab, specifically high technology powered mobility and complex seating.  Most recently Kathy has joined NEETS (National Registry of Rehabilitation Technology Suppliers) as education manager with the goal of promoting education and responsibility among equipment providers ensuring excellence in service delivery of complex rehab technology.

Kathy has presented internationally at a variety of conferences including the Canadian Seating and Mobility Conference, Healthcare Innovations, Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists, RESNA, Medtrade, International Seating Symposium and European Seating Symposium and is a contributor to the NRRTS education program.

Linda Norton:

Linda is an Occupational Therapist who has been involved with the prescription of mobility devices for over 20 years.  It is her diverse experience in various settings including hospital, community, and industry; and experience in various roles including clinician, educator, manager, and researcher that give Linda a unique perspective.  She has completed her Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy, her Master’s degree in Community Health and a PhD in Occupational Science.

Currently, Linda is a co-director and faculty member of the International Interprofessional Wound Care Course and is a faculty member of the Advanced Health Care Practice – Wound Healing program at Western University.  Linda regularly presents workshops and webinars across Canada and is the Director, Learning and Clinical Education for Motion.
